If government actually moved “at the speed of need” as Gov. Gavin Newsom claims, Pacific Palisades, Altadena and Malibu would have been thriving construction zones for the past 4-5 months. Instead, all three locals still have tons of fire debris piles on homesites, fire ravaged buildings untouched, and burned-out emptiness where houses once made up neighborhoods.
But to hear California Governor Gavin Newsom tell it in his fairytale press conference Monday, he’s Superman and the greatest world leader of time all rolled into one.
The Globe was in Pacific Palisades in February with Ric Grenell, special presidential envoy for special missions, and President Trump’s White House representative on the ground in California, making things happen with residents, and representatives from federal, state and local agencies. ” notably, at one point, Grenell warned federal, state and local officials to cut the bullshit pushing DEI for subcontractors on debris removal. He told them to bring in all contracting teams who want to help.” (Bob note: California has a history and practice of requiring documented DEI compliance on any and all “Federal, State and local contracts – Racial, Gender, Trans-Gender, Gay etc. etc. etc. employee representation on the work force”)

“Pacific Palisades and Eaton each suffered (destruction of) about 7,000 structures (mostly homes) in the fires that swept the area in February 2025.”
“Some are still struggling to get permits,” Gov. Newsom said quietly, hoping no one would notice.”
“According to this Los Angeles County recovery and permitting “progress” dashboard, 1 single family residence permit has been issued in Palisades, though the top of the dashboard says 12 have been issued.”
(“Let’s see, some 14,000 structures were destroyed and in 6 months time Los Angeles has managed. by their own numbers, to issue a total of 12 permits to rebuild. At this rate they would be able to issue 24 permits a year. Do the math… it will take 583 years to issue the permits to replace the 14,000 destroyed structures…. Bob”)

Too many Americans raised today consider it demeaning or even impossible to take on certain occupations

The left in America has always frustrated any attempt to reform our immigration system by way of their demands for amnesty, read that full citizenship rights, for all illegal aliens. They would want us to believe this has to do with their compassion for humanity, but their motivation has to do with their insatiable cravings for pure political power. They understand that they need more voters, and their literal bread and butter approach to securing the same is handing out a multitude of benefits and various means of protection to illegal aliens, as well as to lazy and lawless Americans, for that matter, to secure their support.
What is not lost on most Americans is that this mix of immigrants who recently invaded our country included some hard-working people who want the American dream for their children, along with terrorists, international gang members and jihadists, convicted murderers, rapists, and child molesters. Hence, the extreme stance of elite progressives is to welcome and embrace the tired and the poor, along with all menaces and burdens to society. This is one of the main reasons why they lost the last Presidential election.
